Well how’s this for a story. A 75 year old woman faces a prison sentence in Armenia after cutting off the whole countries internet access for 28 hours. Apparently while digging for copper she ended up damaging fibre optic cables which caused the entire nations network to collapse.

She faces up to three years in prison.

Wow, that’s pretty ridiculous….
If it was a no-dig zone, then I guess the penalty is valid.
But I hope they are giving her the same sentence as she would have gotten even if they DIDN’T lose internet.

I don’t think this was intentional. I’m sure there could be another way of sorting the situation out without putting an old lady in prison. She would probably be more helpful to the state while doing community service.

Well let’s start the tech group with a good old tech note. Did anyone notice that Skype went down over the Christmas period? Apparently problems started to kick in with the service on December 22nd and it was all down to a software bug.
